Single Hung Vinyl Windows

Single hung vinyl are a great choice for cost effective performance.  They're not expensive, but are quite effective.  Insulated glass is always the key.  If you get that in a vinyl frame....you're in good shape for thermal efficiency.

Note the frame thickness on these picture windows in Dallas assembled into a bay window. Note that the glass is larger than it would be as a thicker framed product.

There are several different manufacturers we use for this unit.  Alsides makes the Excalibur, X-act has a very impressive unit, and Don Young Company has just released their latest offering.  Glass thickness and features vary.  Some are essentially a builders grade unit.  Some are considerably better.  We recommend different models based on location of home, time estimated to live there and overall budget concerns.

This is a continuous lite circle top single hung window in North Dallas. Note the frame thickness.

Here in Dallas we have a lot of very narrow windows and bow windows. These are excellent examples of good places for single hung windows as single hungs have narrower frames than do double hungs. Single Hungs are also more energy efficient windows than double hungs because the top sash is glued in place.

This quality installation in Dallas further demonstrates the importance of expertese when selecting a window. The Window Connection Dallas.

We offer a quality 3 1/4" main framed window with only a 2 3/8" profile. This is very rare in the window industry. It is one of our recommended window products and a great choice for value and performance while keeping as much glass as possible.

Most Double Hung Windows have a 3 3/4" profile. This means a double hung has 2 3/4" less glass than does the Single Hung. This is very significant in narrower windows.
